Flurry of Activity

Drew Leske

I’ve been quite busy the last little bit. I’ve been struggling to get back to work on STRAP–there is so much fun, fun work to be done there–but there have been other time-sensitive priorities for the ARCsoft Team.

First, it’s still just me, but that will hopefully change in the fall. We have a posting up for a co-op position at UVic’s Learning In Motion co-op site (unfortunately I can’t link to the posting itself but if you’re a senior undergrad or grad student in CSc or a suitable engineering faculty please have a look!). This will be a pretty exciting position, hopefully for the successful candidate, but also definitely for me as the first new member in the team.

We also have a lot of projects in the works. We continue to work with GLOBE but have also taken on:

  • working with a client in Anthropology, a medium-size project for which we’ve posted another position
  • helping out with some data visualizations for an existing project
  • working on researcher outreach with another, related group on campus
  • consulting with HCMC on deployment of a nascent service they are creating
  • exploring software archiving with the UVic Library

No further details yet but this is all pretty exciting stuff.
