STRAP at BCNet Connect 2023

Drew Leske

Last week Archie and I presented our work on the STRAP project at the BCNet Connect 2023 conference in Vancouver. As last week was the end of Archie’s co-op terms with us, this was a great way to cap off all his hard work with the ARCsoft team since joining us in December 2022.

The presentation was well received. On the conference app, 86 attendees bookmarked the session indicating at least passing interest. 19 people actually attended, but it was a pretty engaged group with questions from half to two-thirds of the audience. Archie and I took the full 45 minutes for our presentation and we filled out the hour with questions and comments, and then the conversation spilled out into the corridor for twenty minutes until people needed to grab a coffee, etc. before the next session. So all in all, it was a success.

There was no video recording but the slides are available, slightly modified to replace the demo video Archie narrated with some static screenshots.

A couple of people from UVic were in attendance and a long-overdue presentation to a development group on the administration side of University Systems is planned for next week.
